2020-2021 DFW CSTA Chapter Goals

The DFW CSTA Leadership Team met on August 26, 2020, to establish goals for 2020-2021 and to establish some new organizational committees.  More information is below.  If you wish to serve on one of these committees, please let me or the officer liaison on that committee know.  Thank you to the chapter leadership team for their collaboration and leadership to develop some goals that will strengthen this chapter.

Goal 1: DFW CSTA will establish three new committees during 2020-2021 to engage more members in the decision process related to building our community. These committees will include Professional Learning, Digital Divas, and K-8 Membership and Engagement committees.

Goal 2: DFW CSTA will develop ongoing professional learning to support members with virtual teachers complexities. We will develop at three-four events during 2020-2021 to support this goal of meeting members targeted needs with about 40-50 members in attendance.

Goal 3: Attend CSTA Virtual Teaching Summit to possibly pull some extended sessions into a chapter event. Work with CS related vendors or teacher experts to bring needed sessions to members such as nearpods, flip grids, pair programming with online IDEs, supporting co-seated classrooms, bandwidth issues, building virtual communities, cyber robotics, etc.
